Start a text to anyone from your Ringhouse number, reply in a conversation, and what to do if a text doesn't send.

Which numbers can text
Only UK numbers can send and get texts today. Numbers everywhere else are for calls. In Ghana, that's how the networks work: phone numbers there can't carry texts at all.

Start a new text
- 1Press + at the top of the sidebar, then Message.
- 2Next to Message from, choose the number you're texting from. Only numbers that can text are listed.
- 3Search for a contact, or type their full number and choose Message with their number.
- 4Type in the Message box and press Send, or press Enter.
To text a saved contact, you can also open them and press Message.
- 1Tap Dial.
- 2Tap the number at the top to choose which of your numbers you're texting from.
- 3Type their number, then tap the message button to the left of the green call button. It appears once you've typed a number.

Reply to a text
Open the conversation from your inbox, type in the Message box and send. Your reply goes from the same Ringhouse number they texted.

If a text doesn't send
Ringhouse shows why at the bottom of the screen and keeps what you wrote in the box. Fix the problem and press Send again.

If a number can't text, its conversations show why in place of the message box:

Message your team
Texts to your teammates don't go over the phone network. On the web, choose a teammate in Message, or pick them under Team members. On a phone, tap + in your inbox, then Message a teammate. These conversations live in Team chat.
Questions
Can I see if my text was delivered?
Not yet. A text that fails to send shows an error straight away, but Ringhouse doesn't show when a text reaches their phone.
Can I send photos?
Not yet. Texts from Ringhouse are words only for now.
Which number do they see?
The Ringhouse number you text from, never your personal number. Replies come back to the same conversation.
